about

An awesome taste of the sounds of Acadia. Acadia was once its own thriving culture from the early 1600's until 1755 in the Canadian Maritime provinces. They were tragically deported because they wanted to remain a neutral entity and not swear allegiance to the British Crown. Their presence lives on in throughout Canada's east coast, especially in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

Gus LaCasse is an amazing Acadian fiddler keeping the sounds of this culture alive. The 3 tunes here are a set of very traditional Acadian fiddle tunes passed down orally over the generations.
